Atmos Energy opens $12.9 million Training Facility in Plano, Dallas Morning News, June 21, 2011. Hunt & Joiner was the structural engineer for the new training facility designed to achieve a LEED Silver rating Link to Article . 2010 Design Award, Barton Place Condominiums, Texas Architect, Sept/Oct 2010
Barton Place Condominiums, Austin, Texas: The new complex includes six new six-story condominium buildings containing approximately 282,000 square feet and 270 units.  The condominium buildings are constructed of two-way post-tensioned concrete flat plate floors. To achieve the design intent of the architect, the roofs are designed using rolled steel bar joists and rolled structural steel to result in curve sloped roofs. The condominium buildings are supported by two two-story below grade parking structures below the podium level that are partially below grade and containing approximately 210,000 square feet. The parking garage is also post-tensioned concrete construction. The total cost of construction is approximately $75 M. Link to Article

Hilton Anatole Renovation Aiming High, Dallas Morning News, Friday, July 16, 2010. Hilton Anatole Hotel, Dallas, Texas: Hunt & Joiner was the structural engineer for the $10 million renovation of the Atrium 2 and Media Bar. A centerpiece of the upgrade was a 100 foot long, crystal-clad suspended scuplture called the "Nebula". Link to Article

Refit for Fitness, Texas Architect, May/June 2010 Edition
Equinox Fitness Center, Highland Park, Texas: Recently featured in Texas Architect, Hunt & Joiner, Inc. assisted Good Fulton and Farrell Architects in the renovation of an auto dealership into a new health club and spa with adjacent retail and restaurant space. Structural design included framing of a new exterior skin, new canopies and trellis structures, and a new addition to the building. Link to Article

An Architectural About-Face at Fort Bliss, Army Plans 'Sense of Place' in the Desert

Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas: Hunt & Joiner, Inc. was the structural engineer for the new lifestyle center recently completed at Fort Bliss. The project includes a 202,300 square feet addition to the existing PX with a new food court, grand hall and garden center and renovation of the existing 157,000 square feet PX building. Other structures include six new retail buildings consisting of approximately 85,000 square feet of new space. Link to Article

Landscape Encore, Texas Architect, March/April 2009 Edition
One Montgomery Plaza, Fort Worth, Texas: Hunt & Joiner, Inc. was the structural engineer for the renovation of the existing 8 story warehouse building to convert the upper 5 floors into luxury condos over 2 levels parking and street level retail and restaurant spaces. Structural engineering included extensive assessment and field measurement of the existing building to determine remedial repairs and renovations; removal of lower 6 floors in front center section of building to create a drive-through streetscape; and a rooftop pool, spa and plaza area.
